Site FAQs

A site can be created on the Sites page under your Company's name onn the left menu bar.

Creating a site requires permissions within yoyur company so it may not be possible for all users.

Creating a site may incur charges.

An artefact is a document, image or any configured site form that is associated with a site.

An artefact can be related to other artefacts, contractors, or site breakdowns

A site breakdown is a method to segment or categorise a site by work areas or site jobs.

Artefacts and contractors can then be assigned to a site breakdown as means of grouping the related contractors and artefacts. Contractors and artefacts can then be found through site breakdowns directly or through filtering.

Visibility of site artefacts is determined according to the hierarchy of company invitations on to the site. For example, the site administrator creates the site and then invites contractors on to the site. Therefore the site administrator can view all artefacts on the site. If contractor invites a sub-contractor on oo the site, the contractor can see their own artefacts as well as the artefacts of the sub-contractor, however they will not see all the artefacts the site administrator uploads or the artefacts of other contractors they did not invite on site.

The hierarchy of company profiles that dictates artefact visibility can be superceded by specifically adding a contractor to an artfacts via the related Contractors tab on the Artefacts page.

Artefacts cannot be edited. New versions can be created however. On the Artefacts page, locate the artefact you want to edit, then click the Upload New Version link. You can then create a new version of the artefact with ammended details.

By clicking the artefact name, you can either download a file for an image or document, or open one of the prebuilt site forms within the browser window.

Once an artefact is deleted it cannot be reinstated via The Foreman. Please contact the support desk with details about the artefact to have it resinstated.

Sites are saved in The Foreman indefinitely. Access to the sites once they are no longer active may be restricted depending on the subscription your company selected for the site.

Tradespeople are only added to a site when they are inducted on the site or the first time the sign in.

Once a contractor (a company) is added to a site, all employees of that company are be able to view the site induction material via their 'My Sites' page. They can then review induction material and send a notification to the site administrator that they have completed the induction requirements.
